The MoU open for SMEs to co-sign – come & join us!

Whereas co-signing the spirits’ sector’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Consumer Information has been an option for all our direct members to date since June 2019, 2022 marks the year as of when all spirits drinks producers can join the club of the willing.

The core commitment taken by an SME signing  the MoU is to provide as soon as possible energy information on label and online information regarding ingredients and nutritional information using, for instance – the U-Label Platform launched with CEEV on 1 December 2021. On the request of SME producers of spirits drinks, a co-signing session with a special focus on SMEs will be organised by spiritsEUROPE before the summer break. National Associations are warmly invited to share the news about this unique opportunity with their entire membership and to kindly extend the spiritsEUROPE invitation to their company members. Co-signing the MoU directly is a way to publicly show all the significant efforts many SMEs across the EU are putting in providing transparent consumer information on label and on-line.

All companies interested in learning more about the MoU and/or who wish to join the club of the co-signees are invited to contact us by 1 April 2022.

Expressing open and wide support for the MoU and its approach to consumer information has been – and remains – a key task for our sector. Lots of excellent work is ongoing – it is time to show how many of us deliver on the co-regulatory approach.
