Launch of a Joint Action on Reducing Alcohol Related Harm (RARHA project)

At the end of January, health officials from many European countries came together in Lisbon, to begin a 3 year project that aims to clarify the scientific basis and policy implications of having low-risk drinking guidelines as a public health measure. The uniformisation of units/standards drinks will also be looked at.  On the face of it, such a standardisation could greatly facilitate prevention campaign messaging and information to consumers.

We hope that reliable scientific evidence will be used in the discussions and conclusions.  Waiting for the conclusion of this important project, spiritsEUROPE will maintain its commitment to raise consumer awareness and knowledge on the importance of moderate consumption through for instance, interactive online information: check for your own country at www.responsibledrinking.eu
